End grain block floor

A end grain block floor is an appealing alternative.

A end grain block floor is wood cut across the grains, thereby showing the natural growth rings. The end grain blocks are always cut rectangular and are available in various sizes and thicknesses.

The characteristics of the end grain block floor are its great strength and the growth rings’ aesthetic impact. A end grain block floor is also an interesting alternative that can be used for many different types of interiors, for instance as a decorative wall covering. End grain block floors have been used for paving streets back in the 1900’s (Paris, Rue de Rivoli & Rue de l’Opera; Berlin, Potsdam; New York, Fifth Avenue).

End grain block flooring is manufactured in oak, smoked oak (Choko wood), spruce, pine and larch.

Vica Wood deals with ordinary untreated block floors and as something new ‘Pave’s de Paris” end grain block floors.
